Great photos Dan - you really have got the texture of the rock and cup and ring markings - especially on the Haystacks stone. And you have got a superb one of the circular wall at Woofa too. Excellent!

Cheers James, I'm looking forward to seeing your, lets say more professional photo's, I'm just a point and click amateur   Rolling Eyes
The circular walls at Woofa really stand out, being in a re-growing burnt patch of Heather

A burnt patch allows fresh shoots to come through which are ideal nutrition for grouse. Burning is done in patches so that there is a variety of heather heights.
While the short new shoots provide food, the taller, older heather provides cover and shelter for the grouse.

In recent decades the practice of using of medicated grit and direct dosing of birds against an endoparasite,
the strongyle worm or Threadworm (Thrichostrongylus tenuis), has become part of the management regime on many moors.

Yet again, those photos you've added here are bloody superb Danny.  Although that bear and the hippy look a bit dodgy! Let's definitely get out again next time I'm down there.  Cool
