More unrecorded cup-markings (...yawn...)

Here's yet another unrecorded carving from Rombald's Moor, West Yorkshire. The initial vision of it was a large cup-marking. But a nice piece of moss was sleeping in another cup-mark. And the more we looked, the more puzzled we became about a series of carved lines - straight lines on the whole - making an arrow-like formation, as you can see in the photo. Initially we thought they were curious geological markings, but this seemed increasingly unlikely. If there are any specialists in geology who might be able to account for the arrow-design, please let us know. I should mention that the carved-line you can see running top-left of the uppermost cupmark towards the top of the stone, is a typical cup-and-ring line, of differing depth and nature to the other arrow-like lines.



Not surprisingly, 4 other unrecorded cup-marked stones are close by.

...I should add, that the horizontal line running across the middle of the stone seems to be natural.
