John Lamb ('Saced Sites in Lancashire') recently helped a guy called Paul Daw survey a few sites in the Burnley area. Paul is systematically surveying ALL the stone circles in England! And like we ALL ought to do, he does send the results into the County SMR/HER.

No mean feat if his feet hold out on this foot-loose venture (looks like he could do to loose a stone or two from his vast circular belly, never mind finding new ones! - see pic on Internet).

Paul Daw is a dowser, sports a collar & tie, pleated pantaloons and a sober sport's jacket - say's loads
