Os grid reference SE.016421. From Cowling go along Old Lane, Piper Lane and Buckstone Lane, then along Keighley Road for 1 mile. At Green Sykes farm turn left along the Sutton road (Green Sykes Road) for 200 to 300 yards. At the north side of the road beside a farm gate and footpath the stone can be seen.
It is a boundary stone or waymarker probably dating from the 16th or 17th century and standing at four and half feet high with a slighly tapering rounded, weathered top. An incised thin cross is carved near the top and, lower down at the centre the word "SUTTON" can be seen.
Another Stoop called 'The Pole Stoop' is located about half a mile south of here on the Keighley road just west of Green Sykes farm at grid reference SE.015334169.
