This area would make for a great TNA Field Trip in September

Here are to be found an Iron Age hill fort, large stone circle, Tumuli, Barrows and Neolithic occupation caves.



Good value camping is available at Gibraltar Farm.

I'd be up for this - and I'm sure Mikki would be into it aswell. Count me in mate!

My days of camping might be over now. Last went camping at Capel Curig, north Wales in the early 70s with my boarding school. I prefer to be in a B&B or self catering cottage these days - much more comfortable.

Great to hear that Paul. Trust that the trip to Perthshire went well.

Off to the Lizard later today but will put up a suggested itineary on my return. Maybe others will will be interested by then.

Hi John - Just give us a shout of the dates & we'll be there. The trip to Perthshire was awesome, typical Scottish weather (rain, rain and more rain) too.
We saw loads of the rock-art in Glen Lochay and we climbed to the summit of one of the mountains but there was no rock-art to be seen there.

We're going back up there in the next month or two as we are hoping to find somewhere to live up there.

Don't Panic Ray. We will only be leaving England not the TNA. In a way it will become an even more 'Northern' Site.
Public transport for getting back down South from Scotland is fairy straight forward & reasonably cheap (it's even cheaper than paying fuel costs). So getting to the meet-ups shouldn't be much of a problem, unless we only have 24 hours notice.

Don't worry about TNA. There are many years left & lots more adventures to be had.

Yes Tricia it is that Silverdale. Take a minder with you, but I think you'll be alright in a tent with all them blokes !!!!

Very afraid ....afraid my tent is not that big and the dog believes he's a rottweiller did get chucked off one site early this summer for saying I wanted a pitch for my one woman tent.... silly me.....

Only joking Tricia. If you have a big dog you'll be ok, the others will be miles away from your tent.

Hi John, I'm up for the Silverdale gig! Looking forward to it but I have just bought a new tent and I want to play in it so I will give the sleeping under the stars a miss this time.
Is there a trip to Ilkley tomorrow do you know?
P.S. you have a lift to Silverdale if you need one.
