Just found this wonderful site with it's smart and interesting folks

Found this site thanks to talking with Danny (aka QDanT) and his bear Teddy. As many of you have already seen, Danny is one of the most clever and innovative people I have ever met. When I told him my mother was born and raised in Bradford, he travelled to St. Mary's church in Wyke where I believe she married my father, a B-17 mechanic and crew chief in the Eighth Air Force. Although Danny tried to locate a record of their marriage without success, he did send me incredible photos of the Yorkshire countryside. Although I watch "Last of the Summer Wine" every Saturday night I had no idea of the beauty and history your country.

I enjoy reading and seeing the photos posted on this site as well as the British Bushcraft type sites. I'm on the north side of 60 and retired three years ago from my job as a writer in the marketing department of a community college in Oklahoma which means I wrote the material designed to convince 18 year olds to spend thousands of dollars on an education that might or might not get them a job.

I then moved to Washington State and now live on five acres outside of the small town of Deer Park with my wife, dog, cat and four chickens. It's a quiet life which I enjoy. Hopefully I will figure out how to post photos on this site since I feel I'm taking without giving back. Just want to say thank you and hello to the members of TNA forum. Thanks for the nice comments John and welcome to TNA website. Yes, Danny is quite a character with his Teddy Tours etc. We are glad to have him on board, as we are yourself from the USA. So just enjoy the stuff on here and maybe put some comments, topics and pics on. Cheers. Ray.

Hi John and welcome aboard, this is how I put photo's on :-

I'm no computer Geek being more at home with Paraffin and wicks,indeed back in the Win95 days with the first computer (500Mb. hard drive) I'd to ask the Grandkids "which is the Enter key" my keyboard only having an arrow to the left mark on it ! what I have though is time to mess about so having a few comments as to how I get photo's on, and No! it's not Voodoo! and posting one for Ray here's a tutorial:-
Have a folder with the photo's, you want to post, sized 800 x 600 (photobucket will do it for you, but this is how I do it)
Sign up for a free account with photo bucket http://photobucket.com/
Sign into your Account if you're only adding one photo you can upload it to the main album but if I've several for an article I put them in there own album - click up loadnow

click create new album

name it and then decide if you want every freak and nutjob out in ciber space to be able to see it ? I click Private then create album

in next screen click select photo's and browse to the folder there in

highlight as many as you want to upload by either mousing a box round them or holding Ctrl down and left clicking them then click open

when they've finished uploading you get a chance to see them as thumb nails then click save and continue to album

when there in their album if you put the mouse over a thumbnail a drop down box appears, if your only after one photo click in the Img code box and this puts it onto your clipboard.So you can then click paste in your TNA topic where you want the photo to appear, you just paste it into the message you do not need to use the add photo icon at the top.
If you've several photo's for an article what I do is put a tick in the box at the bottom of the page then in the drop down box click "generate link codes for selected"

another window will open click any where in the "full size" box

it will say copied. I then open "word" (note book will do ) and click paste

one glitch I've noticed is that when uploading a few photo's Photobucket puts them in order uploaded and smaller files load quicker so sometimes the list is out of order, but it's easy to shuffle them around in "word".
Then as your writing an article when you come to wanting a photo open "word" highlight the link click copy back to the article click paste. Reading this it sounds complicated Voodoo and there's probably easier ways but it's how the Bear showed me.

Whereabouts in Bradford? That's where I grew up and so know it well. There's loads of hidden history in and around the city, little known to many historians, who are more into its industrial past than us weirdoes who like the pre-xtian and prehistoric periods!

I really don't know much about my mother's life other than she was a young woman during the war and grew up very poor. My father must have been a prize at that time. John
