I've been wondering over the last few weeks what, if anything, was wrong with the best British rock-art website, acronymically known as BRAC (for British Rock Art Collection). It seems that some thoughtful tosser has pulled the plug on it and the site is completely gone, no-more, fucked.
Which is awful news....

BRAC was the main database for UK cup-and-ring data, maintained - like the best of archaeo-sites on the Net - by dedicated amateurs, unpaid for their work, enthusiasm and commitment. It made the supposedly professional websites look quite poor by comparison, showing - as usual - that amateur enthusiasts give the best when it comes to rock art and megalithic websites. Its demise is very bad news indeed.
Let's hope some aspect of the phoenix emerges to feed and renew it...
