    You might not all be into Alexander Thom, but his work was superb and the huge book, Records in Stone: Papers in Memory of Alexander Thom (Cambridge Uni Press) is on eBay for a bloody fiver!

    I paid the full whack for it when it first came out & it's still a beauty. It's got detailed essays by Alan Davis on cup-and-ring metrology; Margaret Ponting on Callanish; Ed Krupp on archaeoastronomy; and other excellent essays by Graham Ritchie, Euan MacKie, Clive Ruggles, etc.
