This is an intriguing site and helps add interest for me when I go walking on the South Pennine moors. I'm interested in the prehistory as well as flora/fauna. My avatar shows rock carvings (not prehistoric) across the clough and beck from Robin Hood's house. My aim (admittedly quite over-optimistic) is to discover some unknown rock art or even a bog person on these moors.

    Thanks.

I didn't realise there was more than one Robin Hood's house; this is the one in Black Clough south west of Bouldsworth hill (SD 92140 BNG 34719).

Aha yes, I have heard of this place upon Boulsworth Hill and always wondered what there is to see there. There are some Victorian carvings, that are often mistaken for prehistoric, of bison on the moors, and many rock formations etc. There are also some ancient mounds (tumuli) and other antiquities. I live in Nelson which is just a few miles away.
