    Messrs Boughey & Vickerman have the cup-mark down as "doubtful - could all be quarry marks." They might be right. hmmmm...

    Is that the official statement from Teddy? Suspect And, if so, can we quote him on that in any future academic reference?

    You certainly can,
    so the stone was quarried and dragged all the way here for the Cows to Scratch on ?
    as there's no wall marks and it's not a gate post and just happens to slope point the summer solstice sun set
