    Animal Rock Carvings, Widdop Moor

What are thought to be authentic Neolithic rock carvings by a reputable university authority showing a number of ‘bison’ like animals and other features have been found in a remote spot on Widdop Moor. This Thursday I am going to view the carvings and take pictures which I will put up on TNA. Seems too good to be true – just hope it is not a folly! I have sent a photo to Paulus that was posted to me.

Hi John, are these carvings the same ones that are on Boulsworth Hill. There are two carvings together on a stone - a bison and an elk. They are thought to be Victorian fakes. We have a photo of them on the forum somewhere. Mr friend John Belbin of Colne took a photo of them and asked me to pop it on to TNA. If they are not the same please accept my apologies. Ray.

I strongly suspect that you are right here Ray, and that Paul is right also. They look recent and do not conform with other authentic carvings that I have seen. I know the GPS location, that is enough, Thursday I shall go wandering elsewhere. Thanks Ray.

I thought so John. Sorry to have spoilt things for you but better to let you know. I also have the co-ordinates for this site but they are for my own use only and or anyone I trust.
