Probably the earliest ever geographical map of Britain, earlier ones being religious. Type in a modern British place-name and the appropriate part of the map comes up for that particular area. Although the detail is rather restricted, with towns shown as a church symbol, it is quite good when you know where you are. Click on the icons to toggle out for a larger view of an area. Please understand that this map of Britain is "lying on its side". The east coast is at the top of your screen, rather than Scotland, as we have come to expect. Have fun !!The Gough Map 897440471
