Thats great news. I'm suprised its taken so long to date. I'm suprised they allow all those trees etc to grow on it (lovely as they are).

I took Paul & Mikki to visit it on a rainy day in November 2009.
It's not open to the general public but access is easy to arrange.
Aside from a few archaeo's most people believed it to be neolithic, it's nice to have confirmation.
Top of the list next is a core from top to bottom at Silbaby once funding is sorted out.

This is excellent news! The place did feel to have some hallmark of summat archaic when you took us here t'other year. Nice to have it confirmed at last.

Are there any dates for when that might happen Pete? The site looks like a precursor of Silbury and is very obviously man-made.

last winter was very productive with a lot of new stones discovered including some from the Beckhampton avenue.
If you update the Marlborough page I have photos of the Coring if you need them.
Let me know when you can make it down here again?

I got something for you when you come down.
I have recently scanned every page of John Aubrey's Templa Druidim - Monumenta Britannica from the Bodleian library in high resolution. I'll burn a dvd of Jpg's for you.

I'm still working on the Avebury Book with Steve but we keep on finding new stuff every week!
