An integral part of my appreciation of sacred megalithic sites are the spiritual teachings that I obtain simply from being in the midst of these places, feeling their energies, participating in their stories, and engaging with the natural surroundings in which they were created.

I call this path Druidry, and as a Hedge Druid it is my favourite pleasure to visit these sites and be alone with the world, learning, experiencing, being.

Are there any other people on the forum who visit our ancient sites for the purpose of enhancing their connection to Nature, and would you describe yourselves as druids, or something else instead? Do you feel you need such a label? What spiritual experiences and physical well-being do you get from being at these special places?

Do tell me your experiences of communing with Nature at megalithic sites. You can read about mine at my blog - The Hedge Druid (see signature below).

Hi VT, I am a Nyingma Vajrayana Buddhist (although prone to attachment and other silliness)The label is irrelevant to most however it provides us (of the lineage) with maps to consciousness (the interior and exterior landscape) that have been explored and explicitly described by cartographers of consciousness for the past two to three thousand years.
AS for well being.....well it depends upon the place and as per experience I do not differentiate between the sacred and profane (in fact I find such arbitrary compartmentalisation contrary to my particular world view)
However these 'sacred places' have as varied a character (and therefore interest) as do other geographical (natural and man made) locations.
I do not feel I have to enhance my connection to nature.....as I do not consider myself to be other than implicitly of nature! The problem for me is one of ridiculous attachment to delusion of which the I and not I is illustrative.
