Before reaching the summit of Weets Hill you will have passed what appears to be a ruined cairn. These stones form the fire surround of a beacon which is lit by the folk of Barlick to celebrate great occasions.

From the seat below the triangulation point of this most eastern point of the Pendle Gritstone Massif one gains magnificent views over Bowland, Ribblesdale and Craven. The high peaks of the Yorkshire dales dominate the far horizon. To the east Beamsley Beacon and Bradley Moor can be clearly seen. To the west Beacon fell, Longridge Fell and Pendle dominate – all sites of ancient fire-beacons, giving clear communication along the Ribble Valley and through the Skipton Aire Gap.

The triangulation point itself is sited upon a raised cairn that is held by local archaeologists and historians to be a Bronze Age burial mound.
